A $381.6M investment in SBISD and SBISD students that will transform the district’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) facilities, classrooms, and labs into 21st century, industry-driven, future-focused hubs where students can explore a robust career pathways curriculum and place the most up-to-date technological devices into the hands of students and teachers.
This bond also addresses immediate district needs, including additional classrooms at Valley Oaks Elementary and new building stormwater detention and code requirements put into place after Hurricane Harvey.
"I am confident my experiences with CTE, specifically the FFA, have prepared me for college & life after high school." -- Ava Pluchino, CTE student at Stratford HS
Due to a new state law, you will see “This is a Property Tax Increase” on your ballot, but your tax rate will not increase as a result of this bond. This is standard language on all school bonds.
Will Deliver a World-Class Career & Technical Education (CTE) Vision FOR OUR KIDS, featuring state-of-the-art CTE facilities, classrooms, and labs, plus upgraded technological devices for students and teachers.
Businesses and industry need skilled workers. Through SBISD’s numerous CTE pathways, industry partners invest in SBISD students.
Employable Kids = Smart Investment in Our Community
Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes are popular with OUR KIDS! 60% of high school students are currently enrolled in CTE classes on their home campus and/or at The Guthrie Center and The Agricultural Science Center (The Ag Farm). This bond expands classroom space and opportunity for more students to participate and explore CTE pathways.
Your Vote FOR the bond demonstrates you are committed to keeping SBISD excellent and competitive – for the good of our community and all of our kids!
